Dixie L. Morris

Dixie L. Morris, 76, of Springfield, passed away on Friday, March 10, 2023 at her home. She was born December 14, 1946, in Springfield, the daughter of James D. and Dorothy M. (Hollatz) Woolard. She married Carl A. Morris, Jr. on September 3, 1966 and he preceded her in death November 20, 2020.

Survivors include her daughter, Tonya L. (Robert, Jr.) Horrighs of Springfield; son, Wade L. (Tanya) Morris of Rochester; three grandchildren, Brandon, Mitchell and Makayla; sister, Pamela (Bob) Armstrong of Springfield; brother, Mark (Kim) Woolard of Sherman; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents and niece, Sara Armstrong.

Dixie was a resident of Springfield all her life and was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She worked as an office associate for the Department of Natural Resources in the office of Mines and Minerals.

Visitation: 10:30 – 12:30 pm, Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Funeral Service:  12:30 pm, Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
