Dianne Metzger

Dianne Metzger, 74, of New Philadelphia, passed away unexpectedly at Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital on Friday December 9, 2022.
Born in Dover, Ohio on April 9, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Bill and Doris (Snyder) Thompson.
After graduating New Philadelphia High School in 1966, Dianne fell in love with her husband Dan Metzger. On April 17, 1971, they were married and enjoyed 51 years together.
Dianne was a loving wife, mom and grandmother. Throughout her life family was always first in her mind. She also loved ministering to people and sharing her faith in Jesus. Dianne would do anything for anyone including her last act of kindness of making a donation to LifeBanc of Ohio.
Throughout her life she loved to be outside watching birds, arranging flowers and spending time with her family
Dianne is survived by her husband, Dan Metzger; daughters Jessie (Thomas) Bates of West Lafayette, Ohio and Heather (Rusty) Kinsey of Marblehead, Ohio; her grandchildren, Austin (Courtney) Bates, Mackenzie (Adam) Fisher, Ashlee (partner Trish) Colaner and Timothy Sholtz; and great-grandchildren, Bexley, Eastyn, Walker and Wyatt.
She was preceded in death by her parents Bill and Doris Thompson; daughter, Jenny Lynn Metzger; and brother, Bill Thompson.
The family will welcome guest on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM in Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home and Crematory at New Philadelphia. A service celebrating Dianne’s life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at East Avenue Cemetery in New Philadelphia.
