Diana L. Fankhauser

Diana L. Fankhauser, 77, of Dundee, began her walk with Jesus on Wednesday, April 21, 2021.

Born in Burlington, Iowa, on May 30, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Floyd W. and Una (Clayson) Hucke and a 1961 graduate of Burlington High School. Diana had worked many jobs before she began her professional career with General Electric in the shipping department and retired at the age of 60 after 22 years with the company.

A member of the Dundee United Methodist Church at Dundee, Diana will always be remembered as a very strong and wise person who enjoyed riding with her husband, Greg, on their Harley Davidson and spending time with her family and friends. She loved baking Christmas cookies with her daughters and her granddaughters and just hanging out, watching her hummingbirds, while enjoying her favorite beverage.

She will be sadly missed by her husband of 35 years, Greg Fankhauser, whom she married on December 20, 1986; her daughters, Tammy (Jerry) Klein of Dundee, Kimberly J. (Terry) Pearson of Malvern, and Robert J. (Donna) Albert, II, of Bettendorf, Iowa; a brother, Ron (Peg) Hucke of Burlington, Iowa; her grandchildren that lovingly referred to her as Mamoo, Justin (Leigh) Klein, Tasha (Tony) Cole, Jonathan Grimm, Maria Grimm and Nicole (John) Allen and her great-grandson, Oliver Klein.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Robert J. “Soapy” Albert.

Visitation will be held in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover on Sunday, April 25, 2021 from 1 to 4 PM. A funeral service celebrating Diana’s life will be held in the funeral home on Monday, April 26, 2021 at 11 AM with Pastors Dan Legg and Rick Burkhart officiating. Burial will follow in Dundee Cemetery.

The family requests that memorial contributions may be directed to either Community Hospice, 716 Commercial Ave SW, New Philadelphia, OH 44663; The Church of New Hope or Dundee United Methodist Church.

The family would finally like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to her longtime caregivers, Kelly and Shari; the staff of Aultman Hospital, Mercy Medical Center and Hennis of Bolivar for their genuine care and concern.
