Dennis Michael Glover was born February 17, 1953, to David A. and Dolores (Dee Foster) Glover. He gained his angel wings peacefully passing on January 29, 2024, in Cape Coral, FL, just weeks before his 71st birthday. Born in Cedar Rapids, IA and spent most of his life there. He attended Regis High School where he excelled at basketball, football and baseball and graduating from Washington High, both in Cedar Rapids. He married Christine Brown on March 10, 1976. He worked for MDV Spartan-Nash, formerly Nash Finch, for 47 years in human resources and safety and risk management. Dennis was involved in many bowling leagues since his early youth at the local and state level, amassing several 300 games. He coached many children’s softball and baseball games as a teenager and adult. He was an avid golfer, thus prompting his move to sunny Florida. Dennis was an excellent gardener, often having the greenest lawn and most beautiful flowers in the neighborhood. He was a passionate Iowa Hawkeye and Dallas Cowboys fan. Surviving him are his wife Christine (Chris) Glover of Cape Coral, daughters Kay Jandik of Iowa City, IA and Theresa Smyth (husband Chris) of Palm Bay, FL; one son Ken Jandik (wife Amber) of Fort Myers, FL; mother-in-law Dee Brown of Marion, IA; son-in-law Joe Herb of Cedar Rapids, sister-in-law Coe Molumby (husband Dennis) of Cedar Rapids; brother-in-law Jim Thurston (wife Sheri) of Anamosa, IA; grandchildren Jacob Herb and Ashley Herb; brothers Scott Glover (wife Meri), Darrin Glover (wife Cheryl), sister Laurie Pew (husband Bob), sister-in-law Barb Glover Barney (husband Steve); many nieces, nephews and cousins; and beloved Yorkie-poo, Shadow. Dennis is predeceased by his parents, brother Jeff Glover, mother-in-law Joan Elliott-Green, and father-in-law F. Wallace Brown.

A visitation will be held at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home on Friday, February 9, 2024, from 4:30 to 7:30 PM. A funeral service will be held at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 1 PM, with the Certified Celebrant, Randy Walton officiating. The family suggests donations to Dennis’ favorite charities including Salvation Army, Iowa Public Television, the University of Iowa, the Food Pantry of Linn County and Senior Friendship Centers in Fort Myers, FL.
