Dean Edward Miller

Dean Edward Miller, 89, of New Philadelphia, passed away Saturday, September 25, 2021 in Park Village Health Care at Dover following a period of declining health.
A son of the late Elmer Andrew and Ruth Susan (Steiner) Miller, Dean was born December 8, 1931 at Baltic, Ohio.
Dean graduated from Baltic High School in 1949. He was formerly an employee of the Ohio Department of Agriculture where he worked as a meat inspector and retired after 20 years of service. Following his retirement he worked part-time as an inspector for the New Philadelphia City Health Department.
He attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church at New Philadelphia and was a member of the New Philadelphia Elks.
He is survived by his wife, Flora (Starinieri) Miller; his sons, William Miller and Timothy Miller both of New Philadelphia; his step-children, Steve (Mary Ellen) Sherer of New Philadelphia, Dianne (Steve) Farwick of Canton and Christine (John) Milburn of New Philadelphia; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gabriele and Concetta Starinieri.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Dean’s life will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Father Jeff Coning officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia. Following the services, a luncheon will be held at Sacred Heart Church.
The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in Dean’s memory to Community Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 716 Commercial Avenue SW, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
