David “Dave” L. Ettinger

David ”Dave” Leslie Ettinger, 82, beloved husband, father, grandfather,  great grandfather and uncle passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 30, 2022, in Glen Rose, Texas.

Services will be held at a later date.   

Dave was born January 11, 1940 in Conneautville, Pennsylvania, to John and Edna Ettinger.  He was baptized in the White Settlement Baptist Church when he was 17.  He began his 43 year career at age 17 with United Stationers, receiving numerous Sales Awards and retired in 2000.  On July 28, 1957, he married Reba Hitt and together had five children.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and reading.  He will affectionately be remembered for his quick wit, sense of humor, and for his “true stories.”  Most of all Dave cherished time spent with his family.

Dave is survived by his wife, Reba; his children, Carole and husband Stephen Caffery, John Leslie, and Donna Kathleen and husband James Dielmann; his grandchildren, Jack, Kate, Stephanie, Jimbo, Katie, and Jackie; great grandchildren, Wesley, Beau, Elliott, Jett, Jack, Reagan, Charlotte, Evelynn, Zoe and Reagan Leslie; his siblings, Diane and husband, Jimmy Portlock and Jane Wellberg; his brother-in-law, Max Hitt; sister-in-law Jodi Hitt Pengelly and by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his sons, William Thomas Ettinger and Dave Michael Ettinger; and by his brother, Ron Young.
