Darlene J. Plattenberger, 88, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2024. Per her wishes, no services will be held. Entombment at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories Mausoleum.

Darlene was born June 25, 1935 to Joseph and Emma (Netolicky) Tomash. She was united in marriage to Richard “Dick” Plattenberger on July 26, 1956. She worked at Rockwell Collins until retirement.

Darlene had a love for Dobermans, as well as flowers, especially orchids, gardening, visiting the casino, playing cards, and traveling with Dick.

Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Janet Cerveny; sisters-in-law, Janice Tomash and Kay Schirm; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick; parents; brothers, Elmer and Robert; sister, Dorothy; brothers-in-law, Carl Nissen and Dennis Cerveny; and sister-in-law, Elsie Tomash.
