Daniel T. Rooney

Daniel “Danny” T. Rooney, 75 of Kildeer, IL and Naples, FL peacefully passed away February 10, 2022 at home after a long battle with illness. He is survived by his beloved wife, Terry née Dougan of 45 years. Danny was a dedicated father to Jamie Rooney, Thomas (Ashley) Rooney and the late Patrick Rooney,  loving grandpa to Dougan and Hilde, and entrusted brother to Carol, Kathy, Sheila and the late Donna, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was born in 1946 in Wichita, KS  the son of Donald T. Rooney and Frances E. Rooney. In 1969 he graduated from St. Leo University in Florida with a degree in business. His professional life path really began when he took a position at Transport International Pool, Inc. in sales. In due course he was promoted but fate intervened and a stroke of genius prompted Dan to take a new direction when, with the help of his father he started his own company, Chicago Trailer Pool in 1986. He worked  hard to make the business a huge success. Dan had a lifelong passion for sports and especially golf. He enjoyed spending time with family and recently said he was happiest when his children were born. A visitation will be held Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Smith-Corcoran Funeral home, 185 E. Northwest Hwy. Palatine IL from 4:00-8:00pm. A funeral mass will be held Friday, February 18 at St. Thomas of Villanova Parish, 1201 E Anderson Dr, Palatine, IL at 10:00am.
