Corrine Jeanne Halse, 91, of Marion, passed away Sunday, July 9, 2023, at Keystone Cedars following a lengthy illness. A visitation will be held at Cedar Memorial Chapel Stateroom on Sunday, July 16, from 3 to 5 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories on Monday, July 17, at 10 a.m., Vicki Standley of Marion Methodist officiating, with burial to follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. There will also be a luncheon following services at Cedar Memorial Family Center.

Corrine was born Oct. 15, 1931, in Greeley, Iowa, to Howard and Doris (Schneider) Hilsenbeck. She married Ronald Wayne Halse on Nov. 8, 1959, in Marion, Iowa, and celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2009. She graduated from Greeley High School in 1949. After high school she worked at the Masonic Library and Museum in Cedar Rapids. She then retired after working for Collins Radio Co. for 41 years.

Corrine is survived by her two brothers, Jerry (Janet) Hilsenbeck and Curtis (Stella and friend Susan) Hilsenbeck; many nieces and nephews; James (Sonia) Hilsenbeck (Craig and Kevin); Lynda Putnam (Rachel and Ashley); Jason Hilsenbeck; Jennifer (Jason Sr.) De Carlo (Jason Jr. and Jaxon); Jeffrey (Beverly) Hilsenbeck (Kiefer and Kenzie); Natalie (Guy) Zublin (Alina); Jacqueline (Michael Sr.) Fajardo (Michael Jr.); Curtis “Jay” (Kelley) Hilsenbeck and good friends Sherri and Mark Hunt.

Corrine was preceded in death by her beloved husband Ronald Halse; parents Howard and Doris; brother and sisters-in-law James (Evelyn and Gladys) Hilsenbeck.

In lieu of flowers, friends are encouraged to contribute to Camp Courageous or a charity of your choice in Corrine’s name.
