Coni Beth Crocher

Coni Beth Crocher, 64, of Springfield, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at her home. She was born on May 27, 1957, in Springfield, the daughter of William Lee and Juanita Lee (Hall) Roberts. She married Douglas C. Crocher on March 23, 2002 and he survives.

Also surviving are her three children, Joseph Lee (Amy) Zock and Drew J. Mitchell, both of Springfield, and Courtney J. (Alex) Mitchell-Kauffman of St. Louis, MO; three grandchildren, Sonny, Nora and Leah Zock; sister, Emily Roberts-Whitaker of Viper, KY; two brothers, John (Nancy) Roberts of Nashville, TN and Glen (Lucy) Roberts of Huntsville, AL; many other family members; and her beloved horse, Earl, of Richland Ranch.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Dan Roberts.

Coni was a resident of Springfield all her life. She received her associate degree in nursing from Lincoln Land Community College. She was a psychiatric nurse at Memorial Medical Center for 20 years and HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur, for six years. Coni was a member of the Illinois Quarter Horse Association. She was a passionate equestrian. Coni enjoyed traveling to Hall Mountain in KY any chance she could. Her family was most important to her, and she adored her grandkids.

Memorial Gathering: 4 – 6:45 pm, Thursday, April 7, 2022 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Memorial Service: 7 pm, Thursday, April 7, 2022 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Chris Paoni officiating.  Burial will take place at the family cemetery on Hall Mountain in KY.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
