Claudia Ann Patrick was born in Cleveland, Ohio on November 3, 1938 to parents, Fred Fields and Constance Hickland Fields. Claudia was the eldest of five children born to this union. Her parents, brothers, Erskine Fields and Frazier Fields preceded her in death.
As the oldest, Claudia helped guide and nurture her siblings. As the family matriarch, she was strong, kind, generous, jazzy and a complete woman of God. Claudia was the epitome of a virtuous woman and made a positive impact on the lives of so many. She enjoyed reading, traveling and line dancing. Claudia will forever live on, in us and through us.
Claudia accepted Christ at an early age and served faithfully, since 1975, in the vineyard of Avon Avenue Baptist Church. She served in various capacities; most notably, Trustee, Senior Usher Board Treasurer, Memorial Committee President, and Secretary of Missionary. Claudia was also the Cleveland Sub District Financial Secretary.
Claudia was a graduate of East Technical High School and Cuyahoga Community College.
She started her career with the federal government’s IRS division and spent many years as an Air Traffic Controller with the Federal Aviation Administration where she retired. Claudia also worked in the Purchasing Department of Kraft Foods where she enjoyed a 2nd retirement.
Claudia referred Dawn and Destiny as her two heart beats.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her one and only child, Dawn Patrick and her one and only grandchild, Destiny Coe. Two sisters, Jeanette Pyles and Constance Jenkins; her nieces and nephews, Rodney Pyles (Karen), Randy Pyles (Connie), Sean Jenkins (Donna), Marcella Ward, Ramona Fields, Danita Blue (William), Eric Fields, Fred Fields, Nolan Fields, and Antwoin Fields. She also leaves a host of great nieces, nephews and friends.
