Anna “Anne” Marie Marada

Anna “Anne” Marie Marada, 80, of Des Plaines, passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. She was born on July 10, 1941, in Riverton, the daughter of Paul C. and Mary (Hruska) Marada.

She is survived by two sisters, Frances Marada of Riverton and Theresa Power of Springfield; brother, Stephen (Carol) Marada of Sherman; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Frank, Mike, John, and Joseph Marada; and three sisters, Mary Marada, Emma Sanders, and Helen Marada.

Anne lived in Des Plaines for over 40 years. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy and was of the Catholic faith. Anne worked at Western Union as a telephone operator and then Goldman Sachs as a communication administrator.

Anne enjoyed attending the ballet and theater with her family and friends. She loved politics and used her astounding knowledge of all things political to debate with anyone who would dare differ with her.

Anne was a strong, independent, intelligent woman who loved her family fiercely. She was a driving force in many lives. Anne will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Memorial Gathering: 9–10 am, Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at St. James Catholic Church in Riverton.

Memorial Mass: 10 am, Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at St. James Catholic Church in Riverton, with Reverend Raphael Paul DeMoreno officiating. Burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
