Christine “Chris” M. Leinum, 71, of Rochester, passed away on Friday, December 17, 2021 at her home. She was born March 12, 1950, in Springfield, the daughter of Clarence Matthew and Virginia Mary Ray Hostick and they preceded her in death.
She is also preceded in death by one sister, Mary Pat Perlmutter.
Survivors include two daughters, Janet Leinum of Rochester and Susan Lyons of Buffalo; son, Robert Leinum of Starke, FL; five grandchildren, Katie, Seth, Jacob, Nature, and Jaden; three brothers, Jim Hostick of Tennessee, Mike (Cathy) Hostick of Texas and Steve (Nancy) Hostick of Florida; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Chris was a resident of the Springfield area most of her life. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School. She belonged to St. Jude Catholic Church in Rochester. She was a tax analyst for the Illinois Department of Revenue.
Chris loved to read, especially mystery novels. She also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and crocheting blankets and stuffed animals.
Memorial Gathering: 10 – 11 am, Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
Memorial Service: 11 am, Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield, with Reverend Charles Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Catholic Church in Rochester.
