Cheryl Lynn Zapior

Cheryl Lynn Zapior, 66, of Ashland, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at her home. She was born September 29, 1955 at St. John’s Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio to Herbert and Thelma (Cain) Snell.
Cheryl married Gerald Zapior on February 16, 1980 and they were happily married for 41 years. She worked as a waitress for many years and as a cashier at a local gas station until her retirement. Cheryl loved to knit, enjoyed being outdoors fishing and camping, watching the Cleveland Indians and Cavaliers play and listening to Elvis Presley or Kenny Rogers. She enjoyed being around family and friends, especially around the holidays, celebrating with everyone she loved.
Cheryl is survived by her husband, Gerald Zapior; her daughters, Dahnean (Scott) Hinkle and April (Roy) Templeman both of Loudonville, Ohio; her sons, Micheal (Katie) Buttrey, Jr. of Ashland, Bryan (Melinda) Zapior of Mansfield, Ohio and Robert (Christopher) Zapior- Blankenship of Bucyrus, Ohio; her grandchildren, Chandler Hinkle, Brooke Hinkle, Anna Templeman, Emma Templeman, Makaylen Fites and Zakqary Fites; her mother, Thelma Snell of Cleveland, Ohio; her sisters, Debbie Snell of Cleveland, Ohio and Thelma Gindlesburger of Millersburg, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at the Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 308 Claremont Avenue, Ashland conducted by Pastor John Temple. Friends may call one hour prior to the services, from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m., at the funeral home on Tuesday. The family request that you wear either Cleveland Indians or Cavaliers attire.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
