Cheryl Cecilia Gonzales

Cheryl Cecilia Gonzales, age 57 of Somonauk, IL passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 20, 1963 in Chicago, IL the daughter of William Joseph and Geraldine Rose (Mundt) Hoffman.

Cheryl was united in marriage on July 15, 1989 to Mr. Gilbert Gonzales and they spent the next 32 years happily together. Mrs. Gonzales was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Somonauk, IL. She enjoyed fishing with her family and bird watching. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Cheryl is survived by her husband, Gil Gonzales of Somonauk, IL; her son, Lucas Gilbert Gonzales of Somonauk, IL; her siblings, Cynthia Conlee of Oswego, IL, Stephen (Leanne) Hoffman of Schaumburg, IL, Brian (Carmen) Hoffman of Temple, TX, and Gregory (Debbie) Hoffman of Woodridge, IL; also several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Geraldine Hoffman; her brother, Jeffrey Hoffman; and her brother-in-law, Marty Conlee.

A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday, January 8, 2021 at the Nelson Funeral Home, 1617 North Bridge Street, Yorkville, IL with Father Kevin Butler, officiating. Interment will be private.

Friends may visit from 4:00 PM until the Hour of Service on Friday, January 8, 2021 at the Funeral Home in Yorkville, IL.
