Charles “Chuck” James
Cedar Rapids
Charles “Chuck” James, 62, passed away in his home peacefully on Thursday, Aug. 17, 2023.
Chuck was born on June 30, 1961, to Carol (Christianson) James and Willard James in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Chuck was a member of the Moose Lodge in Cedar Rapids and a member of the First Lutheran Church. There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, Aug. 26, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Moose Lodge in Cedar Rapids.
Chuck enjoyed time with his grandsons most of all. Going bowling with JJ, and to Morgan Creek Park with Nolan, is how he spent his summer days. He loved vacationing in Cabo San Lucas with his wife Tina, enjoyed golfing, fishing, and watching the Chicago Cubs and the Denver Broncos. Chuck was a people person, which was very helpful in his chosen career. He worked for Lynch Ford for 17 years, and Cedar Rapids Toyota for the past 10 years, retiring in February of 2023, due to his cancer diagnosis.
Chuck married Tina (Rost) James on Nov. 6, 1982, in Quincy, Ill. Together, they have two children, Kayla (Chris) Orr of Cedar Rapids and Justin (Caitie) James of Altoona.
Chuck is survived by his children; one brother, Jeff James; sister, Lisa James; and two grandchildren, James “JJ” Orr and Nolan Orr. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Lori James.
We would like to give a special thank-you to the Oncology Department at PCI for their love and support during his illness.
