Charles “Chuck” Gene Kesky, 74, of Riverton, passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at his home, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on December 28, 1946, in Hillsboro, the son of Charles and Sophie (Pundzus) Kesky and they preceded him in death. He married Marsha Lyons on June 7, 1986 and she survives.
Also surviving are three children, Rich (Tammy) Kesky of Florida, Amee (Curt Dailey) Kesky of Springfield and Matt Kesky of Riverton; two granddaughters, Megan and Brooke Kesky; two sisters, Rose Jones of Nokomis and Barb Kesky of Collinsville; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many loving friends.
Chuck graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1965. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1966 and served in Vietnam from 1966 – 1967. He belonged to St. James Catholic Church in Riverton. Chuck was employed with Pana-Hillsboro Insurance and the Illinois Department of Revenue in the Information Services Division for 27 years, retiring in 2001. He enjoyed golfing, especially in his league at the Oaks, and spending time with his family and friends.
Visitation: 9:30 – 11:30 am, Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at Staab Funeral Home – Sherman.
Funeral Service: 11:30 am, Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at Staab Funeral Home – Sherman, with Reverend Pat G. Jakel officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Land of Lincoln Honor Flight.
