Charles “Chuck” Davis, Sr.

Charles “Chuck” A. Davis, Sr., 86, of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at his home. He was born June 30, 1935, in Springfield, the son of Albert and Zeralda Melissa (Smith) Davis. He married Rose A. Barr on November 14, 1954 and she preceded him in death on November 8, 2011.

He is also preceded in death by his parents; one great-granddaughter Anna; one brother, Robert Davis; and three sisters, Jenny Boyer, May Laken and Mary Dyer.

Survivors include one daughter, Brenda Roth of Pawnee; four sons, Chuck (Sharon) Davis, Jr. of Chatham, Mark Davis, Sr. of Brookfield, MO, Guy Davis and Stan (Candy) Davis, both of Springfield; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Miles of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Chuck retired after twenty two years of owning and operating Uncle Chuck’s Greenhouse. Prior to that he worked at Poston Brickyard from 1953-1972 and then as a union roofer for nineteen years.

He was a member of Real Life Church. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, doing puzzles and playing Texas Hold’em once a week.

Visitation: 2 – 4 pm, Sunday, October 31, 2021 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Funeral Service: 9 am, Monday, November 1, 2021 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Clint Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the food pantry at Real Life Church.
