Charles “Charlie” W. Lord

Charles “Charlie” W. Lord, 71, of Newport, NC passed away on Monday, May 3, 2021 at Crystal Coast Hospice House of Newport. He was born in Springfield, IL on March 25, 1950 the son of Thomas F. and Clara (Zanders) Lord. He married Cindy (Sklenka) Lord and she survives.

Also surviving are one son, Lawrence Lord of Newport, NC; one brother, Donald M. Lord of Chatham; 5 sisters, Elaine Howe of Springfield, Patricia Lewis of New Berlin, Diane Bier of Roscoe, Bonita Killen of Springfield, and Kathleen Ashenfelter of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Charles is preceded in death by his grandparents; parents; and one brother, Thomas Lord.

Charles went to St. Patrick’s Grade School in Springfield, IL and attended St. James Trade School where he trained to become a butcher. He was an avid fisherman. Charles liked to cook for his family. He enjoyed his two cats. Most of all, Charles loved spending time with his family.
