Charles Ball

Charles “Charlie” Ball, 72, of Hendersonville crossed into eternity on Wednesday, March 31, 2021.

A native of Henderson County, he was a man of many talents and wore many hats in his lifetime.  He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, volunteer firefighter, and skilled electrician, carpenter, and craftsman.  He retired from Henderson County Government in 2012 after a career of 23 years.

He was the son of the late William Frank Ball and Ruby Myrtle King Ball Capps.  He is also preceded in death by his stepfather Clyde Capps, brothers Donald and Ronald Ball, and sister Susie Matin.  He is survived by his wife of 40 years and the love of his life Tina, son Christopher, wife Vanita, and grandson Noah, and daughter Shelby and granddaughter Chiara.

Affectionally called “Charlie, Dad, Papa, and Uncle Charlie” by so many, he was known for his jovial spirit, work ethic, internal and external fortitude, and independent can-do spirit.  His greatest pride was his children and grandchildren.  He loved to fish and take his family on adventures near and far.

Visitation will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Chapel, on Saturday, April 3, 2021, at 1 pm followed by Service and Graveside at 2 pm.  Attendees at the visitation and service are asked to wear appropriate face coverings and practice social distancing.

The family would like to thank the VA Medical Foster Home Program and Mountain Care Adult Day Care for the compassionate care provided to our beloved Charlie.
