Carolyn Sue Gerberding

Carolyn Sue Gerberding, 82, of Overland, MO, died at 9:14 am, Friday January 8, 2021 at her home. She was born January 23, 1938 in Pittsburg, IL to Holly Leon “Len” and Carrie E. (Naegele) Peebles. She married Phillip Aiello June 4, 1964 and he preceded her in death December 28, 1977. She then married Frederick Gerberding December 23, 1989 and he preceded her in death January 18, 2003.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary (Mike) Armstrong of Overland, MO and Janet Peebles of Springfield: four step sons, Jim (Debbie) Gerberding of Chatham, Fred (Carolyn) Gerberding of Rochester, Dom (Kate) Aiello of Florida and Mike (Mary Lou) Aiello of Springfield; two step daughters, Virginia Newman of South Carolina and BJ (Bob) Hollis-Bergen of Chatham; twenty-two grandchildren, forty-five great grandchildren, twelve great great grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Leck of Bensenville, IL and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and sisters, one step daughter and three grandchildren.

A kind, gentle, loving woman who will be greatly missed.

Visitation: 11 – 12 pm, Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Funeral Service: 12:00 pm, Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Reverend Bishop Patrick “Mike” Quigley officiating. Burial will follow at Chatham Memorial Cemetery.
