Carol Ann Huston
Carol Ann Huston, 70, of New Philadelphia, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on March 18, 2022, in Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital following complications with Covid-19.
Born in Dover on May 12, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Nickcola and Norma (Bigler) Leone. After graduating from Indian Valley North, Carol was blessed with the birth of three children, Anthony, Lynn, and Amy, whom she adored.
On February 14, 1982, Carol married her loving husband, Dennis W. Huston, who preceded her in passing on July 23, 2016. Together, they were avid car enthusiasts, enjoying their membership with the Classic Cruisers Car Club. They were also members of the Midvale United Methodist Church.
Carol enjoyed bowling on several area leagues in Dover and New Philadelphia. She also enjoyed serving as a “Grandma” at Indian Valley and St. Mary’s schools. Recently, she lived at Warwick Manor where she and the other residents loved playing cards and socializing. Most importantly, Carol loved every minute spent with her children and grandchildren. She devoted her life to each and every one of them.
Professionally, Carol worked with the Tuscarawas County Sheriff Department, Midvale Police and Fire Departments, and Smith Ambulance throughout her career.
She will forever be treasured by her children, Tony Basiletti of Newcomerstown, Lynn Dessecker of New Philadelphia, and Amy (Mark) Everhart of Gnadenhutten; grandchildren, Dr. Brandon (Brittany) Dessecker, Riley (Chase) Cyr, Raegan Wires, Reece Wires, and Roman Wires; siblings, Robert “Hap” (Betty) Cross, and Richard “Butch” Cross; numerous nieces, nephews; and many friends. She was also anticipating the birth of her first great-grandson due in May.
In addition to her husband, Denny, and her parents; Carol was preceded in passing by her siblings, Pat Jenkins, Virginia Campbell, Margie Marshall, Jimmy Leone, and Tom, Raymond and Larry Cross.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral & Crematory, 116 Second St. NE, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 24 with visitation one hour prior to the service in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be at Evergreen Burial Park in New Philadelphia.
