Carol A. Vanek

Carol A. Vanek, age 78 passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at Hillside Rehab and care Center in Yorkville, IL. She was born on December 21, 1942, in Brookfield, IL, the daughter of Otto and Anna (Duda) Pospisil.

Carol was united in marriage to Lee Vanek in 1960 and they enjoyed many years happily together until his passing. Mrs. Vanek was the longtime owner and operator of her own catering service “The Village Gourmet”. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who will be deeply missed by her friends and family.

Carol is survived by her daughters, Denise Toman of Aurora, IL, and Michelle Vanek of Yorkville, IL; her grandchildren, Shelley (Don) Groner, Nathan and Emma Strang; and her great-grandchildren, Madison, Gracie, and Luke Groner.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Anna Pospisil; her husband, Lee Vanek; her son, Glen Vanek; and her brother Otto Pospisil Jr.
