Carl Eugene Zeller, 84, of Walker, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at his home in Walker.

Carl was born on Sept. 9, 1938, near Troy Mills, Iowa, the son of Earl and Lois (Williamson) Zeller. He attended and graduated from Troy Mills High School in 1958. Carl met the love of his life, Rosalie McNeal, in 1962 at the Hoover Wesleyan in rural Troy Mills. They were married on July 17, 1965, at the Assembly of God Church in Vinton, Iowa. Together they had five children.

Carl farmed his entire life on the family farm where he raised hogs, horses and loved his Simmental cattle. He also worked at the Walker Sale Barn for years, hauled livestock for the Amish and did custom farm work.

Carl is survived by his loving wife, Rosalie, of 57 years; four children, Scott (Dana) Zeller, Rowley, Iowa, Galan (Kari) Zeller, South Bend, Ind., Kristine (Sam) Knudson, Independence, Iowa, and Timothy (Katie) Zeller, Marion, Iowa; son-in-law, Mike Henry, Walker, Iowa; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, one on the way; one great-great-grandchild, one on the way; and two sisters, Zarita Eastridge, Marion, Iowa, Pat (Wayne) Beuter, Walker, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Lois Zeller; daughter, Holly Henry; in-laws, Charles and Ethel McNeal; brother, Keith Zeller, in 1960; five brothers-in-law; and four sisters-in-law.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 27, at Reiff Family Center in Independence, with the Rev. Dr. Charles Clark Officiating. Burial will be held at Troy Mills Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 26, at the Reiff Family Center – Funeral Home & Crematory in Independence.
