Bricen D. Krafock (Cravaack), age 94 of Clarence, passed away on Tuesday March 5, 2024 at Unity Point-St. Luke’s Hospital. A Visitation will be held on Saturday March 16 from 9-11 AM at Chapman’s in Clarence. Inurnment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery in Clarence.

Bricen was born east of Clarence, IA to Karl and Edna (Dahl) Krafock on October 30, 1929.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Arlene, daughters, Corrine (Shel) Smith, Webster, MN, Cynthia (Lyle) Haferman, Brookfield, WI and Janis (David) Graupman, Pulaski WI; grandchildren, Monica Lindahl (Mark Nicholson), Alex (Lisa) Smith, Alysse Haferman, Ben (Dorothee) Haferman, Christopher Haferman, Gabriel Graupman and Daniel Graupman. Great-grandchildren, Cecilia, Harrison, Thea and David (arriving late March). He is also survived by his siblings, Verlyn (Janis) Krafock and Karen (Marvin) Brick as well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Bethany, Phyllis and her husband Earl Bark.

A lifelong resident of Clarence, Brice graduated from Clarence High School in 1947. Following high school he played on the town baseball team for ten years. He is the last member of the original Clarence team which was a part of the Cornbelt League. After working for several area farmers, he worked as a mechanic at Dettmann Implement. He married Arlene J Rix January 4, 1953 at St. John’s UCC, Clarence, IA. He concluded his working years at Felco/Land O’Lakes. Brice was the ultimate handyman around the home, remodeling and repairing when needed and enjoyed woodworking after retirement, making clocks for the family. Brice was a quiet, private person, and will be missed for his wisdom, wit and great sense of humor. He always looked out for the underdog. “Watch out for ice on bridges and overpasses.”

Memorials may be given to the Clarence Fire Department or Camp Courageous.
