Brenda Lee Allison Blackwell

In the early morning hours of Saturday, September 04, 2021, while surrounded by her loved ones, Brenda Lee Allison Blackwell, age 71, of Hendersonville, North Carolina, passed away at Memorial Campus of Mission Hospital in Asheville. A native of Henderson County, North Carolina, she was born on December 05, 1949 and was the daughter of the late J.C. and Edna Lee Pruitt Allison.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold L. Blackwell, who passed away March 15, 2007; four siblings, Barbara Jean Hoots, Patricia Bingham, Charles Lee Allison and Debra Seymour; and three sons-in-law, Jack Harwood, Ralph Gifford and Mike Fortner.
A loving and caring nanny to many, she had a big heart. Brenda was never one to judge and always made sure everyone she loved was taken care of. It always did her heart good to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Left to cherish her precious memories are four daughters, Sharon Fortner, Linda Gifford (Adam), Rose Burns (Jeff) and Sandra Roberts (Rick); one sister, Edith Bayne (Doug); one brother, Jay Carroll Allison (Janet); ten grandchildren, Leena, Summer, Gene, Jessica, Autumn, Michael, Joseph, Christopher, Justin and Corey; and twenty great grandchildren. Brenda is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; many adopted children she met along her way; and last but not least, her special canine companion, “Oreo”.
A funeral service will be held at a later date and will be announced once it has been finalized.
At other times, the family will be at the home of Sharon Fortner, 120 Danielle Drive, Penrose, North Carolina 28766.
