Bobby Lee Watkins Sr.
Bobby Lee Watkins Sr., 64, departed this life on January 22, 2022, at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, Texas. He was born July 8, 1957, to the late James Watkins, Sr., and Johnnie Mae Selmon Watkins in Indianola, Mississippi.
Bobby attended Mansfield Senior High School, then served 12 years in the United States Navy. His latest employment included Flxible, Hartman Electric, Copperweld, and Advantage Family Outreach & Foster Care.
He leaves to cherish his wife of 45 years, Sarah Thompson Watkins of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Michiko Rose of Houston, Texas and Titonya (Demetrius, Sr.) Bradley of Evergreen, Alabama; one son, Bobby Lee (Rochsand) Watkins Jr. of Houston, Texas; seven grandchildren, Jaquan Thompson, Shaunece Thompson, Keara Wilson, Damaya Bradley, Demetrius Bradley, Jr., Tamia Bradley, and Pagieo Gordon Jr.; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, JW Parker of Indianapolis, Indiana and James (Edie) Watkins, Jr. of Mansfield, Ohio; three sisters, Ora Lee (Steven) Remmer of Mansfield, Ohio, Mildred (Sylvester) Ginn of Ontario, Ohio, and Mary Lee (Andrew) Gosha of Mansfield, Ohio; two aunts, Louise Selmon and Minnie Brooks both of Mansfield, Ohio; and a very special friend, Gary Feagin.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Watkins, Sr.; his mother, Johnnie Mae Watkins; his daughter, Titanya Watkins all of Mansfield, Ohio; and two sisters, Dora Lee Clopton of Chicago, Illinois, and Katsie (Thomas) Mathews of Mansfield, Ohio.
Family and friends may visit from 1:00-2:00 pm on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street. Bishop Sylvester Ginn and Pastor James Watkins will officiate the funeral service immediately beginning at 2:00 pm. The Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Squad will perform full military honors following the service at the funeral home. Bobby will be laid to rest in Mansfield Cemetery.
