On March 2, 1962, he married the love of his life, Janey Laverne Brooks, at Tolar Church of Christ. They lived in Abilene a few months then moved to Ft. Worth where Barry Lynn Brooks was born on February 17, 1963 and then Dennis Lawrence Brooks was born January 7, 1965. They moved several more times before Bob accepted a position as a Houston Police Officer and they made the move to Houston, Tx.

Bob had many hobbies and excelled at all of them. His love for photography and eye for color was evident in every beautiful photo. Bob’s photography took off from a fun hobby to a thriving wedding photography side business where he won various awards and his photos were featured in numerous wedding magazines. The Houston Police department also capitalized on his photography skills and utilized for ceremonies and Houston events. He was also an avid golfer. He was a member of the Pecan Grove Plantation Country Club Men’s Golf Association where he served as President in 1993. He won countless awards and club championships. Bobby and his wife, Janey traveled all over the United States and internationally to play golf and planned many of their vacations around the courses they wanted to play.

Bob joins his wife, Janey Brooks, his oldest son, Barry Brooks, his two older brothers, William Brooks and David Brooks and his first grandson, Bryce Brooks along with his parents in heaven. He leaves behind his son, Dennis Brooks and his wife, Catherine; his two grandchildren: Laurel Catherine and Addison Lawrence: his great-grandchild: Hayden Mae; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Bob was an amazing brother, husband, father, uncle, Poppy, and great-Poppy, who fiercely loved his family. Bob never met a stranger and helped anyone in need. Words cannot express how much he will be missed but we have hope in seeing him again one day.
