Bill R. Black, 77 of Granbury, Texas passed away on Sunday May 23, 2021. He was born on July 10, 1943 in Kermit, Texas. Funeral Service: 10:00 A.M. Saturday May 29, 2021 Wiley Funeral Home Chapel, Granbury; Visitation: 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Friday May 28, 2021, Wiley Funeral Home; Interment: Holly Hills Memorial Park, Granbury.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 56 years: Jeannette Black; daughters: Melinda “Lindi” Brockman and husband Larry Brockman of Burleson, Texas, Rae ‘Jeanne Steele and husband Robbie Steele Jr. of Granbury; grandchildren: Brielle and Chandler Steele of Granbury, Jordan Brockman of Arlington, Texas; nieces and nephews: Cary Ratliff, Gena Ratliff Davison, Terrie Griffin-Benavides and Brother-in-law: Jerry Ratliff.
He was preceded in death by his father: Ray Black and mother: Myrtle Black; sisters: Carolyn Griffin and Nancy Ratliff.
The early years of Bill’s career were spent with Parker Drilling from 1974 – 1986. He then moved on to being Co-Owner of Coldwell Banker United Realty Professionals with his wife Jeannette Black and Business Partner Jerry Griffis from 1980 – 2018. Bill enjoyed being a bus driver for Granbury ISD from 2004 – 2015, he was known as “Mr. Bill” and he loved his students and co-workers. Bill will be deeply missed.
