Beverly J. Burmeister

Beverly J. Burmeister, 70, of Springfield, passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021 at her home. She was born January 25, 1951 in Battle Creek, MI to Roland and Rita Lizawoski Burr.  She married Robert “Bob” Burmeister and he survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Michael (Mary) Burmeister of Springfield and Steven (Natalie) Burmeister of North Aurora, IL; five grandchildren; three sisters, Bonnie Burr, Julie (Jody) Stallings and Arlene Swan; and three brothers, Jerry, Bob (Merna) and Randy Burr.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Bill Burr and one grandson, Teddy Burmeister.

Beverly worked for Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.  She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was a Eucharistic minister at St. Joseph Catholic Church and at HSHS St. John’s Hospital.

One of Beverly’s favorite hobbies was making jewelry. She was an avid reader and liked to watch television. She absolutely loved to dance, travel and go on shopping sprees. One of Beverly’s greatest joys was spending time with her grandchildren and family.

Visitation: 4 – 7 pm, Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Funeral Mass: 10 am, Friday, August 20, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Fredrick Chima Mbiere officiating.  Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Beverly Burmeister Memorial Fund, with proceeds to benefit her grandchildren’s education.
