Beverly Ann Franks, 85, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2025, at Hiawatha Care Center. In agreement with her wishes, cremation has taken place, and no services will be held at this time. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Marion is assisting the family.
Beverly was born on October 15, 1939, in Whittier, Iowa, to Edwin Eugene and Phoebe Evelyn (Root) Heald. She graduated from Springville High School in 1957 and went on to build a life rooted in community and service. On June 20, 1964, she was united in marriage to Richard Eugene Franks in Springville, Iowa.
Throughout her life, Beverly worked in a variety of roles, including the Ox Yoke Inn in Amana, the Younkers Peacock Room in Cedar Rapids, the Anchorage School District, Ironman Inn in Coralville, and Cup & Saucer in Springville, ultimately retiring in 2014. She was deeply involved in her community, serving as President of the Springville Historical Society, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and a supporter of numerous veteran programs.
Beverly will be remembered for her warmth, dedication, and the lasting impact she had on those around her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Beverly is survived and lovingly remembered by her children, Leonard (Stacey) Marko-Franks, Dawn Franks, Jeffrey (Suzy) Franks, and Dennis (Elena) Franks; 19 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren; sisters, Dolores Schmell and Evelyn Heald.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard; grandson, Thomas Marko-Franks; brothers, Gary and Larry Heald.
