Beulah Jane (Blackford) Crouse passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Sunrise Naperville North, Naperville, Ill., at the age of 97.

She was born in Marion, Iowa, on Oct. 21, 1926, and lived in Marion for more than 94 years. She met the love of her life, Norman G. Crouse, who at the time was serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Beulah took a train to Seattle, Wash., where she and Norman were married in 1945. They had three children. In her younger years Beulah was a Sunday school teacher at the First Methodist Church in Marion. She enjoyed spending time with the family vacationing at Birch Lake near Hackensack, Minn., camping in northeastern Iowa, and hiking in many state parks. She enjoyed needle work and the beautiful results of her works have been and still are treasured by family members and friends. Beulah worked for: Gordon Hatchery, James Riley CPA, in Marion as an accountant, and Sears and Roebuck in Cedar Rapids as a tailor. Beulah was also proprietress of a fabric shop in the basement of her home for many years and lovingly provided seamstress services for some members of the Marion Police Department. After retirement Beulah and Norm toured the country in their motor home.

Beulah was preceded in death by her loving husband Norman G. Crouse who passed away at the age of 95 in 2019, and her brother Richard Blackford of Marion. She was the daughter of Sarah and Forrest Blackford of Marion. She is the cherished mother of Dennis (Skip) N. Crouse and wife Laurie Adamson of Melrose, Mass., Christine H. and husband Chuck Cooper of Naperville, Ill., and Ronald F. Crouse and wife Suzi of Salem, Ore. Beulah was the beloved grandmother of Sarah Dustin of Portsmouth, N.H., Jason Hunter of Chicago, Ill., and Justin Hunter of Naperville, Ill. She was also the great-grandmother of Lucy Hunter and Mia Hunter.
