Betty Ruth Hoellerich

Betty Ruth Hoellerich, 85, of Springfield, went home to be with her Lord and Savior at 6:56 pm, Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Springfield Memorial Hospital. She was born February 14, 1936 in Melrose Park, IL to Floyd and Mary “Ruth” (Gills) Milby. She married John E. Hoellerich November 1, 1958.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, John; three daughters, Janice (Jeff) Johnson of Springfield, Julie (Dwight) Swanson of Branson, MO and Sally Lisnek of Springfield; eight grandchildren, Daniel (Ashley) Walbert, Brittany (Phil) Laurent, Krista (Aaron) Peña, Katie Swanson, Jennifer (Devin) Sykes, Erich Lisnek, Evan Lisnek and Ally Lisnek; six great-grandchildren, Gavin and Weston Laurent, Garrett and Adeline Rusnek and Logan and Micah Peña; ten nephews and one niece.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Janice Syverson.

Betty Ruth was a member of Cherry Hills Church and recently attended First United Methodist Church. She retired from the State of Illinois. She taught piano in her home and was the pianist and organist at Cherry Hills Church for 30 years. She was a member of the DAR and Daughters of 1812. She enjoyed traveling, reading, her Bible study group and fellowship with friends.

Visitation: 10:00 am – 11:00 am, Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Cherry Hills Church.

Funeral Service: 11:00 am, Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Cherry Hills Church, with Pastor Jeff Nelsen officiating. Burial will follow at Woodwreath Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to CMF International (Christian Missionary Fellowship) for Greg and Vicki Syverson or RCE International (Resourcing Christian International) for Robbie and Lauren Becker.
