Betty “Bunny” Jane Hawk

Betty (Bunny) Jane Hawk, 80, of Mansfield, passed away on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at her residence at Mansfield Memorial Homes after an extended illness. She was born January 7, 1941 in Mt. Vernon, OH to the late Lucille (Carpenter) Hauger and Roy Hauger.

 

Bunny was a 1959 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School and was married to Howard Hawk (deceased) of Mansfield, OH for 47 years. They loved spending time at Lake Erie and they were very involved with the Lexington Athletic Boosters and the Lexington Elks Club. Bunny worked for various companies in Mansfield, including North Central Technical College and Therm-O-Disc. Bunny always lit up a room with her infectious laughter and her love of life. She loved music and loved to play the piano. She was an avid sports fan that loved The Ohio State Buckeyes and the TBDBITL. As a grandmother, she often visited her granddaughters in Evans, GA and was loved by her daughters’ friends in her community in Georgia.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Hawk; brother, Robert Hauger; and her sister, Lois (Hauger) Oswalt. She is survived by her daughter, Debra (Hawk) Hart; and her son-in-law, Michael J. Hart; granddaughters, Addaly Hart (20), Morgan Hart (18) all of Evans, GA; and her son, Bradley Hawk of Ashland, OH.

 

A celebration of life will be held at Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St. Mansfield, OH on Wednesday, November 24, 2021. The family will receive friends at 12:00 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
