Bernard Michael “Mike” “Beau” Brannon lost his battle with liver cancer on October 25, 2021.

Mike was born June 13, 1953, in Parkersburg, WV (or as he would say “West by God”) but was raised in Mansfield, OH. He is the first child of Bernard F. “Buzz” and D. Marie (Moore) Brannon of Mansfield, OH (formerly from Meigs Co., OH). Mike graduated from Madison High School in 1971 where he was active in wrestling and football. Mike enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1971 of which he proudly served 20 years. He served in England, Germany, Iceland, and Norway. Stateside, he served in Nevada, Florida, and North Carolina. He also served in the Gulf War during Operation Desert Storm. Mike enjoyed barbecue gatherings with friends and family and golfing with his sons as well as a good game of English Darts.

Mike had a gentle spirit and was a very loving man who loved his family. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He is preceded in death by both his parents. He is survived by his brother, Larry “Steve” Brannon of Crestview, FL; sister, Patricia (Greg) Greiwe of Cincinnati, OH; his children, Daniel Brannon (Keri Smith) and Ian (Jamie) Brannon of Mansfield, OH, and Michelle (Olen) Pittman of Creston, OH; stepsons, Randy Jr. (Michelle) Stone of Lancaster, KY, and Kevin Stone of Mansfield, OH; grandchildren, Kylie Hill of Brenham, TX, Kierstin Brannon, Preston and Emmett Brannon of Mansfield, OH, Jazmine Jaeckin of Willard, OH, Christian Jaeckin and Bradley Fox of Creston, OH; step grandchildren, Katie (Adam) Magers and Kiara Stone of Mansfield, OH, Kyle Stone of Galion, OH, Noah, Joshua, Zadok, and Alyssa Stone of Lancaster, KY, Sidney, Andrea, and Wesley Pittman of Creston, OH, and McKinsey Howell, Jake Howell, and Juliana Ham of Mansfield, OH. He will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and great grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 28, 2021, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The funeral service conducted by Rev. Christopher R. Thomas will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Diamond Hills Baptist Church, 960 Donnawood Drive, Mansfield, with additional visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m. He will be laid to rest in Mansfield Memorial Park with military honors presented by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail. Memorial contributions may be made in care of the family.
