Benjamin J. “Ben” Baker

Benjamin J. “Ben” Baker, 41, of Port Washington, passed away December 25, 2021 in Trinity Hospital West at Steubenville, from COVID related complications.

Born in Dover, he was the son of Thomas A. and Jean-Anne (Eichel) Baker of Tuscarawas and a 1999 graduate of Indian Valley High School at Gnadenhutten. Ben was currently working as a service technician for Dawson Security of Dover and was a member of both the Tusco Amateur Radio Club and Tusco Gun Club.

A man of faith, Ben was raised in the Schoenbrunn Community Moravian Church at New Philadelphia and enjoyed sharing his faith while helping out at numerous Moravian Church camps. He also loved playing his guitar and especially loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Ben is survived by his brother, Tommy (Heidi) Baker of Tuscarawas; his nephew, Pvt. Carter Baker – USMC, stationed at Fort Lee, Virginia and his nieces, Ashleigh and Avery Baker of Tuscarawas.

A memorial service celebrating Ben’s life will be held Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at 11 AM in Schoenbrunn Community Moravian Church at New Philadelphia with Rev. Ben Lippert officiating. A private inurnment will be held at a later date in Sharon Moravian Church Cemetery at Tuscarawas. The family will require those attending the service to wear masks and practice social distancing.
