Belvia  Gurley

Belvia Gurley born Dec. 13, 1935 in Twinsburg, Ohio to the late Clinton and Ora Lee Jones. She was the second oldest of six girls. Whom one preceded her in death, Irene Green.

She attended and graduated from Twinsburg City School. She worked several jobs including Hawthorn and Cleveland State of Ohio mental institution. Aug. 11, 1956 Belvia was united with William Gurley in Holy Matrimony and to union one daughter was born.

She loved to cook Thanksgiving dinner for the entire family and line dance. She always encouraged her daughter to be the better person. She was a quiet person but, got her point across. In 1976 she became a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church under the leadership of Rev. Paul Berry. She served on several committees, such as Ushers and Shepherd Committee.  She supported many ministries and programs, and activities while attending Aldersgate.

After a long fight with illness, Belvia transitioned from this life surrounded by her family. She leaves to cherish one daughter Pamela Jessie, two grandchildren Tiane Blount (Derrick), Cassandra Jessie, two great-grand Delonte and Arielle Smith and four sisters, Pearl Ward, Margaret Brown (Charlie), Charlotte Foster (Delanore), Shrilla Jones and host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
