Bartholomew “Bud” Grafton

Bartholomew “Bud” Grafton, 87, of Kincaid, died at 4:27 am, Sunday, April 18, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born July 12, 1933 in Tilden, IL to Bartholomew and Violet (Luthy) Grafton. He married Roe Nan Bryant January 19, 1956 and she preceded him in death September 24, 2020.
He is survived by two sons, Randy (Alecia) Grafton of Loami and Patrick (Wendy) Grafton of Tovey; daughter-in-law, Bernice Grafton of Crossville, TN; nine grandchildren and many great grandchildren; one sister, Jane (Don) Binson of Arkansas; four brothers, Tom (Nancy) Grafton of St. Louis, Don Grafton of Bulpitt, IL, Allen Grafton of Missouri and Terry Grafton and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; one son, Bartholomew Grafton; two step-sisters, Barbara and Peggy and brother-in-law and best friend, Dick Miller.
Bud was a retired Union Boilermaker from Local #363. He loved children and was a Boy Scout Master when his sons were young. He played a pivotal role in his grandchildren’s lives.
Visitation: 11:00 am – 12:30 pm, Thursday, April 22, 2021 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
Funeral Service: 12:30 pm, Thursday, April 22, 2021 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Patrick Grafton officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
CDC Protocol shall be followed.
