Barbara Manges Prenier

Barbara Manges Prenier, 94, of Hendersonville, NC passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2021.

Barbara was born in 1926 in Greenwood, Arkansas to the late Harris B. and Grace Bassett Heartsill.  Barbara is also preceded in death by her second husband of 7 years, Gordon Prenier, and her first husband of 49 years, Paul Manges.

Barbara was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Fletcher, NC.

She was a devoted mother and grandmother, and especially enjoyed caring for babies for working parents after retiring from secretarial work.

Barbara is survived by her daughters, Mary Edwards (Bruce) in Washington, PA; Paula Means (Wayne Flannigan) in Bakerstown, PA; and Linda Williams in Blude Ridge, GA; stepdaughters Gloria Pfeiffer (Dallas) of Oregon, Betty Smith of California, and Carol Peden (Roger) of Tryon, NC; grandchildren, Mathew Fritz, Marcus Fritz (Delma), Todd Means (Angela), Shannon Fawley (David), and Evan Crow; and great-grandchildren, Lawson, Leah, and Lauren Fawley and Sarah Fritz.

A memorial service will be held at Fletcher Park Inn, Third Floor, on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at 10:00 a.m., with Rev. Ivan Blake officiating.  Memorial contributions may be made in Barbara’s memory to the Elizabeth House at Four Seasons.
