Arthur V. Anderson
Arthur V. Anderson, age 84 of Plano, IL passed away Thursday, July 7, 2022 peacefully at his home. He was born on February 24, 1938 in LaSalle, IL the son of Charles and Ava (Thomson) Anderson.
Arthur was united in marriage in Lockport, Illinois on November 24, 1962 to Corrine Longhini and they spent almost 60 years happily together. He was raised in Triumph, Illinois and graduated from Mendota High school in 1956. Art enjoyed golfing, woodworking, antiques, playing cards, auctions and spending time with his family, friends, and grandchildren. Mr. Anderson was a proud Veteran of the United States Army. He was formerly employed as a Tool Maker, until his retirement in 1992, by Caterpillar, Inc. Arthur later worked in construction. In recent years he enjoyed working on old automobiles at Steve’s British Connection in Sandwich, IL. Mr. Anderson was a former member of the Waltham Curling Club. He enjoyed many winters in Winter Haven, Florida, and summers in Pentwater, Michigan. Arthur was a loving husband, father, grandfather, step great-grandfather, brother and uncle, who will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
Arthur is survived by his wife, Corrine Anderson of Plano, IL; his children, Eric (Stan Zuba) Anderson, Marsha (Tim) Spidle, Timothy (Stefanie) Anderson, and Heath (Alette) Anderson; his grandchildren, Courtney (Dave) Simpson, Nathaniel Spidle, Logan (Nhi) Spidle, Valerie, Rebecca, Bethany and Samuel Anderson; also his two great-grandsons, Gage and Ryker Simpson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ava Anderson; his brother, Roger Anderson; his father and mother-in-law, Anthony and Margueritte Longhini; his sisters-in-law, Mary Lynn Knight and Jane Foster; and his brother-in-law, Gilbert Knight.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
