Arlinda Ricklefs, 79, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at the Rehabilitation Center of Lisbon following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 1:00 PM at New Life Community Church in Marion, IA. Friends and family may call before the services, beginning at 11:00 AM. The interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Monticello, IA. Goettsch Funeral Home in Monticello has taken Arlinda and her family into their care. Surviving are her 3 children, Ranae (Troy) Andersen, Rodd (Erika) Ricklefs, Troy (Mariana) Ricklefs, her grandchildren, Nicole (Ross) Vessels, Nathan, Joshua, Hannah Andersen, Paige, Logan, Claire Ricklefs, Tucker and Elijah Ricklefs, and her brother Randy (Anita) Mohr. She was preceded by her parents, infant brother Bertram, and her husband Marvin.

Arlinda Mae Mohr was born June 19, 1944, in Monmouth, IA, the daughter of Alvin and Mildred (Finkenbinder) Mohr. Arlinda was in the last graduating class from Monmouth High School in 1962. She went on to the St. Luke’s School of Nursing in Cedar Rapids and worked as a nurse at St. Luke’s Hospital. She met Marvin at a dance at Armar Ballroom and they were married on September 17, 1966, at the Wyoming Presbyterian Church. Arlinda and Marvin lived in Scotch Grove and Monticello while he was an engineer at Cuckler Buildings in Monticello. Marvin’s job took them to Mount Pleasant, IA where Arlinda volunteered as a teacher’s assistant. The couple then moved to El Paso, IL. Marvin would precede her in death in 2008. Arlinda returned to Hiawatha, and then Keystone Cedars in Cedar Rapids. She resided there until April when her health caused her to move to the Rehabilitation Center of Lisbon.

Arlinda had a strong faith that guided her through life. Her personal relationship with Jesus provided her comfort, joy, and hope. Her trust in God was a source of strength.
