Arley E. Mills

Arley Eugene Mills, 81, joined his Heavenly Father peacefully on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 with his family by his side. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Suttles Mills as well as his brother J R Mills.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years Shirley Hughey Mills, his sons Mike Parlier (Angela) of Appling, GA, Tom Parlier (Sheila) of Jefferson City, TN, Greg Parlier (Denise) of Asheville and daughter Beverly Parlier Burrows (Jim) of Candler; grandchildren Annette Parlier Ecret (Billy), Jeanette Parlier Rice (Roy), Daniel Parlier, Daryl Parlier, Patrick Burrows, Nicholas Burrows; great-grandson RJ Rice; sisters Helen Mills Houser of Etowah and Margaret Mills Dill (Quentin) of Fletcher along with many nieces and nephews.

A 1959 graduate of Edneyville High School, He served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He also served in the Army National Guard for many years. He retired from Bellsouth. He was a member of Main Street Baptist Church. He enjoyed woodworking and spent many years with the Apple Country Woodworkers as well as making many masterpieces for his wife, children, grandchildren, and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, July 3 in the chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home.  Rev. John Mason will officiate.  Burial with military honors will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Main Street Baptist Church, 202 Main Street South, Hendersonville, NC 28792.
