Archie Clyde Hamilton, Jr. PhD

Archie Clyde Hamilton, Jr., (AC) of Granbury, TX was born on July 7, 1942 to Gladys and Sgt. Archie Hamilton in Pine Bluff, AR. He graduated high school in Pine Bluff and served in the Arkansas National Guard as a Medic and Engineer. He attended the University of Arkansas, Houston University and Kennedy Western University where he earned degrees in Electrical Engineering, General Engineering and a PhD in Engineering Management.

 

He and his wife Edith (Edie) celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary in December.

 

After a working as an engineer for the Army Corps of Engineers and International Paper, Archie founded ACH Project Management Teams, Inc. For over 50 years he and his team managed engineering projects for the petrochemical, pulp and paper, NASA, and Boeing and conducted medical research and development for NIH. His career took him to 8 countries and 5 continents. He held 3 U.S. patents, published 2 books on electronic cryogenic technology, and was published in U.S. and U.K. engineering and medical journals.

 

Archie loved working on genealogy and serving his community via various religious, civic and non-profit boards.  His favorite community activities were head science fair judge for several schools, teaching participants in STEM programs.

 

He was very proud of the family who will miss him greatly: wife Edie Hamilton; sons Dirk Hamilton (Patricia), Bryant, AR;  Aric Hamilton (Beth), El Dorado AR; bonus daughter Bobbi Hayes (Lance Green), Abilene, TX; Granddaughter Z. Grace Hamilton, El Dorado, AR; bonus granddaughters Whitley Burnett, Harriet and Sarah Green; sister Deborah (O’Dale) Fitt and Niece Jennifer Fitt.
