Antoñia Elisa Soto
, 63, of Yorkville, Illinois, passed away on Friday, January 21, 2022 after a 14-year battle with terminal brain cancer.
She was born on June 14, 1958 to Antonio Soto and Emma Garcia in Huasco de Ocampo, Hidalgo, in Mexico. She completed 12 years of education.
She was a dedicated single mother to her daughter Susana. She was a member at St. Patrick Catholic Church.
She was passionate about spending time with her family and the kids, enjoyed music and food, and was the life of the party. She was courageous in her endeavor to try new and different things, and always excited for new adventures. Even after being diagnosed with terminal brain cancer, she loved to travel to new places, which included Disney World, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Cubs and Blackhawks games, zoos, museums, and more.
She was preceded in death by her father Antonio, mother Emma, and sisters Graciela and Martha.
She is survived by her daughter Susana Soto (Matthew) Perry of Yorkville, IL, her granddaughters Juliette and Charlotte Perry, as well as her extended family. She was considered a daughter to Irma and Agustin Zamora, who were very generous to her and treated her like a daughter. She was also considered to be like a second mother and nina to the Zamora, Lawrence and Godinez families. She will be dearly missed by her close family and friends, who will remember her for her strength, courage, sense of humor, and positivity.
Her visitation will be held at Nelson Funeral Home, 1617 N Bridge St, Yorkville, IL, on Wednesday, January 26 from 4:00 – 8:00pm.
The funeral mass will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 406 Walnut St, Yorkville, IL, on Thursday, January 27 at 10:00am, with Father Matthew Lamoureux, M.I.C., officiating. Interment will follow in the Risen Lord Cemetery in Oswego, IL.
