Anita M. Cole

Anita M. Cole, 74 of Springfield, passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Springfield Memorial Hospital. She was born March 10, 1948, to James C. and Anita C. Stewart Black. She married Albert S. Cole, Jr. on July 25, 1970 and he preceded her in death on December 13, 2017.

Survivors include four children, James Cole, Albert S. (Sandra) Cole III, Jeff Cole and Bobby (Crystal) Cole, all of Springfield; six grandchildren, Kristen (Nick), Kilah, Hailey (Connor), J.J., Kianna and James; one great-grandchild, Isaiah and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Nancy Hyndman and brother, Robert Black.

Anita was a Customer Service Associate at Walgreens for over thirty-five years.

She loved going on shopping sprees and was known to gamble with her luck a time or two on slot machines.

Visitation: 10:30 am – 12:30 pm, Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Funeral Service:  12:30 pm, Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
