Angeline Sarelas

Angeline “Angie” Sarelas, nee Panagopoulos, age 96, of Chicago IL. Beloved wife of the late James A. Sarelas. Devoted mother to Alex (Elayne), Thomas (Valerie), Dennis (the late Rose), Kathy (the late Bret) Brush and Vickie (Steve) Egan. Proud grandmother of 13. Great grandmother of 6. Preceded in death by her parents, Themistocles and Helen Panagopoulos, and brother George (Frances) Panagopoulos. Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. Angie was an active member and past president of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church Ladies Philoptochos for over 40 years, and more recently active at St. Nectarios Greek Orthodox Church. A founding members of St. Demetrios Church Cub Scout Troop 3821, also founding member of the Cultural League, becoming an accomplished artist. She worked in the church office for many years. She was a Breast Cancer survivor of 40 plus years. She loved camping, traveling, card games, and the outdoors. She will be missed by all. May her memory be eternal. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Nectarios Greek Orthodox Church. A visitation will be held at St. Nectarios Church, 133 S Roselle Rd, Palatine, IL on Friday, September 17, 2021 from 11:00am-12:00pm, followed by funeral service at 12:00pm.
