Gainesville, VA – Angela M. Ogletree, 54, passed away unexpectedly in her sleep on January 5, 2024. Angela was born January 22, 1969 in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter to Harry and Janice Germany. Graduate of Warrensville Heights High School (Class of 1987), Angela continued her education, receiving her bachelor’s degree from Ohio University; later going on to obtain her MBA from Columbia Southern University.

Angela celebrated her 20th wedding anniversary in July 2023, with her husband and soulmate, Jimmy A. Ogletree Sr. Angela loved her family, going on exciting trips, the ocean, animals, and everything that glittered. With Angela’s flair for fashion, it was no surprise that she named her pet Pomeranian, “CoCo Chanel” Ogletree.

Angela’s heart was filled with pride and love for her three daughters, each carving their unique path in the world. Her eldest daughter, Taylor “Honeyluv” Character, is an international DJ, captivating audiences worldwide. Her middle daughter, Sydney Character, is a recent graduate of Norfolk State University pursuing a career in health management. The youngest, Payton Ogletree, is currently pursuing her degree at Virginia Commonwealth University. Alongside these three remarkable ladies, Angela also cherished her three bonus sons, each a valued and loved member of her blended family.

Angela began her career with the Cuyahoga County Department of Employment and Family Services, where she spent 18 years in various positions to include Supervisory Eligibility

Specialist, until her relocation to the Washington D.C. area with her family. Jimmy transitioned from the Maple Heights Police Department to pursue a career with the U.S. Marshals. Angela continued her career with the Prince William County Department of Social Services in Virginia for an additional 5 years until switching careers and fulfilling her desire to also support the nation in her position with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Angela was a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA) Sorority and the National Society of Leadership and Success, as well as a talented jewelry artist in her spare time. Taking great joy in creating jewelry designs for women and men, Angela became the owner of Angee Beads LLC and served as a personal designer to celebrities and a host of loyal customers. Angela was truly passionate about creating jewelry and always wanted to share her vision and artistry with the world.

Angela lived her life her way, never caring about conforms, being predictably unpredictable, bringing instant energy and excitement, which is why she was so loved. Always flawless and glamorous, Angela’s spirit and energy always lit the room and our hearts.

Surviving in addition to her husband, Jimmy A. Ogletree Sr., are her parents, Harry and Janice Germany; daughters Taylor Character, Sydney Character and Payton Ogletree; her bonus sons Javon Babb, Jimmy Ogletree Jr. and Scotty Ogletree; her sister Sherrell Clark (Kevin Sr.); niece and nephew Kennedy and Kevin Clark Jr.; her aunt Eloise Sylvertooth; her cousins Shavonne “Sherry” Warley, Tanya “Toni” Warley-Fitzgerald, Randall Sylvertooth, and Michelle Sylvertooth-Jackson; along with many cousins, extended family members, and a host of loved ones and faithful friends. Angela was predeceased by her sister, Yvette Noel Germany; and her aunts, Delores “Dee” Warley-Brown, Rose “Peachy” Oliver, and Brenda Daley.
