Agnes C. Dahlkamp

Agnes C. Dahlkamp, 102, of Springfield, died at 6:10 pm, Sunday, March 7, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Home. She was born January 26, 1919 in Springfield, to Joseph and Mary Oprisko Trello. She married Edwin Dahlkamp, Sr. in 1947 and he preceded her in death in 1978.

Survivors include one daughter, Nancy (Jerry) Vance of Springfield; one son, Ted (Sally) Dahlkamp of Cameron Park, CA; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Albert and Joe Trello; six sisters, Mary Meiron, Anne Maher, Margaret Usalias, Frances Trello, Rita Sabo, and Ceil Trello and one son, Edwin Dahlkamp, Jr.

She was owner and operator of Cottage Inn Tavern for twenty-eight years.

Agnes was a member of St. Joseph’s Church. She was a diehard Chicago Cubs fan, and was so excited to watch them win the World Series. On occasion, she enjoyed her niece Lisa, taking her to Alton Belle for a nice lunch and a little gambling.

A memorial mass will be held at a later date, after COVID restrictions have lifted and the family and friends can gather safely.

The family would like to thank the Sisters and Staff of St. Joseph’s Home for their excellent care of Agnes.
