Adele Barbara Pryor

Adele Barbara Pryor (nee Krupnik), 98, passed peacefully on May 19, 2022 at her home in Niles, IL.

 

She is predeceased by her husband Henry ‘Hank’ John Pryor in 2013 and her brother Edward C. Krupnik in 2004.

 

She is survived by her daughter Carolynn, her son Jeffrey, his wife Karin, and two grandsons Adam, and Benjamin.

 

In addition to her own children and grandchildren, Adele cherished many extended family members including nephews, nieces, and their children. She enjoyed visiting with them all, especially at large holiday gatherings.

 

Adele was a graduate of Mundelein College and earned her masters from Northwestern University. She became a biology teacher at Amundsen High School and then Mundelein College before joining the staff at Steinmetz High School. She taught at Steinmetz from 1966 until her retirement in 1990, impacting the lives of thousands of students throughout her career.

 

Adele had a wonderful sense of humor, quick wit, and a contagious laugh, often poking fun at herself or anyone else in her sight lines. She will deeply be missed.

 

A visitation will be held on Monday, May 23 from 4-7pm at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 6150 N. Cicero Ave., Chicago IL 60646. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 24th at 10am at St. Teresa of Ávila, 1950 N Kenmore Ave, Chicago, IL 60614. Interment St. Adalbert Cemetery.
