Abigail Joy Cantrell-Hernandez

Abigail Joy Cantrell-Hernandez, 34, of Abilene, TX, beloved wife to Nathan Hernandez, and daughter to Wes and Polly Cantrell, passed away on Monday, June 5, 2023, in Granbury, TX.

 

Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 P.M., on Friday, June 9, at the Wiley Funeral Home, 400 Highway 377 East, in Granbury, TX. A celebration of life service will be held at 10 A.M., Monday, June 12, 2023, at the Stonewater Church Glen Rose Campus , 5645 State Highway 144, in Glen Rose, TX. A committal service will follow at Squaw Creek Cemetery in Glen Rose, TX.

 

Abigail was born on July 13, 1988, in Dodge City, KS to Wes and Polly Cantrell. She recently married the love of her life, Nathan Hernandez, on February 16, 2023. Abigail was passionate about saving lives. This first started while serving as a lifeguard during her teenage years. Later, she became a Registered Nurse. She served as an Emergency Room and Trauma nurse. This soon led her to become a travel nurse. She comforted many people during the COVID epidemic. She shared her story in an educational video dealing with the treatment of cervical cancer. She loved her Savior Jesus Christ, and was a member of Rise Church in Abilene, TX. Her motto was “Positivity is Key!” Abigail brought joy to everyone she met. She will be missed by everyone who knew her – particularly her family and her many friends.

 

Abigail is survived by her husband, Nate; mother, Polly of Granbury, TX; father, Wes of Derby, KS; her brothers, Josiah and Benjamin Cantrell of Glen Rose, TX; nephew, Axle Ray Cantrell of Wichita, KS; her maternal grandmother, Lola Hopkins of Granbury, TX; and her paternal grandmother, Martha Cansler of Haysville, KS.

 

Abigail was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Peter Hopkins; her paternal grandfather, Cliff Cantrell; and by numerous aunts and uncles.
